FocusGuard is a Chrome browser extension that helps users block distracting websites and stay productive. We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what data the extension handles and how.
Data We Collect
FocusGuard stores the following data locally in your browser using Chrome's built-in chrome.storage.sync:
Your blocked sites list
Focus Mode on/off state
Pomodoro timer settings
Auto-schedule settings
An optional lock password
A count of how many times blocked domains were visited (stats feature)
Your theme preference and custom block message
How Your Data Is Used
All data is used solely to provide the extension's features. It is never sold, shared, or transmitted to any external server or third party.
Password Storage
If you choose to set a password to lock Focus Mode, it is stored only in your browser's local sync storage. It is not encrypted beyond what Chrome provides, so avoid reusing sensitive passwords.
Browsing History
FocusGuard records the domain names of blocked sites you attempted to visit, along with a visit count. This data powers the in-extension stats dashboard and never leaves your browser.
Data Sharing
We do not collect, transmit, or share any user data with third parties. There are no analytics, tracking scripts, or remote servers involved.
Data Removal
You can clear all stats at any time from the Stats tab inside the extension. Uninstalling the extension removes all stored data.
